Michael Anthony

Current President

Michael started his career as design draftsman with a major consulting engineering firm in Perth, progressed to drafting manager then to project management in Singapore. He joined Centigrade in 2000 as senior estimator and was involved in securing many large projects for the company. In 2013 he was appointed General Manager and was the driving for force behind the company opening regional branches in Albany and Geraldton. He was director 2018, managing director in 2021.

Michael has passion for skills development and the education of apprentices and tradesmen. He is instrumental in the establishing an inhouse refrigeration and chilled water training facility.

Centigrade has built its reputation on employing quality people and delivering quality projects to clients. Michael continues to push this philosophy and the company has become one of the leading mechanical contractors in the health sector in Western Australia.

Richard Drigo

Current Vice President

Managing Director of the Fredon Air Group, Richard has over thirty years’ experience in the Mechanical Services / Building Contracting Industry. 

Starting in 2008, Richard has overseen the development of the Fredon Air Group into one the largest private air conditioning businesses in Australia.

That expansion has seen movement interstate and into New Zealand with businesses offering Construction, Service and Maintenance expertise across a wide and varied range of projects in the Commercial, Health, Defence, Educational, IT and Infrastructure Sectors.



Russell Telford

Immediate Past President
Russell has forty years Industry experience associated with Building Services, with over thirty of which has been with the A.G. Coombs Group, including various roles in Site and Project Management followed by six years as the General Manager of the Projects business and the past twenty years as the Managing Director of the A.G. Coombs Group of Companies.
A.G. Coombs Group is a leader in the provision of “whole of life” building services – from design, install and commission through to ongoing advice, service, maintenance and operation for all the systems that bring buildings to life.
Russell is the immediate past AMCA National President as well as the Chairman of the Victorian and National AMCA Training, Learning & Development Committees and the BIM-MEPAUS Project Board, as well as a member of the RCCC Round Table and other Industry Committees.


Andrew Johnson

New South Wales

Andrew Johnson is the Managing Director of Crest Air Conditioning. Established in 1980, Crest is one of the largest air conditioning specialists in New South Wales with satellite operations in Queensland.

Andrew has over thirty years’ experience within the Air Conditioning industry, all with Crest Air Conditioning and has been Managing Director since 2009. Andrew has a Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Trade Qualification, Statement of Attainment in Air Conditioning, Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Engineering and Diploma in HVAC - Refrigeration Engineering.

Andrew is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heating, former president of the Air Conditioning Dealers Association and is the current President of AMCA NSW.


Ashley Robinson


Ashley is a motivated and customer-focussed General Manager with over thirty year’s experience in large commercial, industrial and residential HVAC projects in Queensland and Victoria. He commenced his journey within our industry as an apprentice mechanical plumber in Melbourne in 1990, securing industry training awards and completing post trade studies he quickly transitioned into project management.

Ashley now resides in Brisbane after relocating from Melbourne with his wife and two young boys, adding a baby girl to the family eight years ago. During this time, Ashley has successfully overseen the launch of Ellis Airconditioning and several of Queensland’s most prestigious projects while being a valued member of the AMCA QLD board and for the last two years serving as the AMCA QLD Chairperson and President.


Brad McAndrew


Brad has over twenty-five years experience within the Construction Industry as a design engineer and then within the mechanical services contracting sector of the commercial construction industry. His experience has developed through many sectors including Healthcare, Retail, Education and Industrial within the fitout, refurbishment and new construction areas. Brad has progressed into senior managing roles and has a proven track record of delivering successful projects for all clients.

Brad is a qualified mechanical services engineer with NEBB certification, and is the current AMCA VIC president demonstrating his commitment and willingness to share his knowledge and experience with the wider industry and all stakeholders.


Ian Ferguson

Western Australia

Ian has twenty-five years’ experience, beginning with the MPM group and the mechanical services industry in 1997. Working in all facets of the industry, Ian commenced a project management traineeship with the company in 1999. He successfully managed small to medium scale mechanical services projects for two years. In 2001 Ian was appointed the manager of the newly established small works and fit-out departments and presided over its growth and success for six years.

In 2008, Ian was appointed as a Director of the company. He also served a term of four years during 2009 – 2012 as President of AMCA WA and has again taken up this roles as the current President.


Nick Spencer

South Australia

As the Business Operations Manager at Watson Fitzgerald & Associations for past six-and-a-half years, Nick has been responsible for the operational aspects of the business such as Finance, Human Resource management, Contract Management and Quality Management. Prior to this Nick was Business Advisor for Altitude Advisory and TTA Accounting.

His aim on the AMCA Australia Board is to set objectives to allow for long-term sustainability, profitability and encourage industry best practice; and, implementing change to processes and structures to help increase efficiencies and deliver the greatest possible benefits to members.

Nick has been a serving board member of AMCA SA for the past four years
